There is something to be said for the wisdom of our elders. In my case this past weekend, I discovered the depths of my mother’s DIY wisdom. An accomplished seamstress, my mother reminded me how easy and satisfying sewing can be.
I’ve been working with patterns from Lotta Jansdotter’s Simple Sewing. After a few hours of work, I am delighted to announce the successful completion of a (slightly modified) wall organizer for the craft corner (pictures pending) and placemats for Ariel’s new kitchen table.
I found the weight and bold print of the fabric from IKEA to be perfect for both these projects.
Perhaps the aprons I’ve been prattling about for weeks now will finally come to fruition.
